Jr. Necker Cup

The National Tennis Foundation runs a number of events each you to support both grass roots and high performance tennis. These events include:

NTF Scholar/Athlete High Performance Training Grant

Overview

Grant funding is based on a number of factors including the success level of the player in the previous year both athletically (e.g., end of the year USTA ranking list/tennisrecruiting.net) and academically, and recommendations/commentary about the individual’s character and leadership qualities. The grant funding is intended to be awarded to junior player(s) aspiring to achieve national and/or international rankings. The recipient(s) should have a history of strong national tournament results. The recipient(s) must be actively training and competing in tournaments in the award year. The grant funding is for actual and necessary training expenses and is made tri-annually (Fall / Spring / Summer) based on player meeting or exceeding Grant Requirements.

Grant Requirements

  • Player must be a United States citizen and reside and train at an approved NTF training facility.
  • Have a documented financial need based on third party verification.
  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher coming into the program. Child must maintain a 3.5 GPA level in order to stay in the program.
  • Must be ranked in the top 10 in the Nation within the last 24 months or be ranked in the Top 10 based on tennisrecruiting.net age group rankings.
  • Must perform 30 hours of community service or service in support of the National Tennis Foundation.
  • Must be registered in the NTF Life Skills Leadership Program
  • Must be in a Home School Program and in the 7th – 12th grade.

Grant Benefits

  • Submit two letters of recommendation.
  • Complete Board Member Interviews of Player and Parents.
  • Player must submit two written essays.
  • Submit grades for current and previous year.

Overview

  • Have a documented financial need based on third party verification.
  • Have a GPA of 3.5 for the last semester.
  • Must be ranked in the top 50 in the Nation within the last 24 months or be ranked in the Top 50 based on tennisrecruiting.net age group rankings.
  • Must perform 30 hours of community service or service in support of the National Tennis Foundation.
  • Must be a member of the NTF Player / Leadership Development Plan as part of the application process.
  • Must provide 10 hours of teaching for NTF Free Clinics or NTF Excellence Team.

Grant Benefits

NTF Facilities Partner

The NTF works with tennis facilities and academies across the US to provide tennis programming to NTF players.

Fundraising Partner

The NTF works with a number of worthy ATP/WTA player and tennis related charities and for profit entities to help raise monies for worthy non-profit initiatives thru joint fundraising campaigns and events. The NTF has worked with the following charities including the Novak Djokovic Foundation, the Rafael Nadal Foundation, Bryan Brothers Foundation, Virgin Unite, BVI LTA, Norwalk Grass Roots Foundation NYNYJTL, Martin Hennesy Inspiring Children Foundation, USTA Foundation.

NTF Chapter Program

The NTF selectively partners with other qualified 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations who embody the values of the National Tennis Foundation, have a documented track record for making a positive impact in their local tennis community, and desire to strategically partner in developing joint programming, fundraising initiatives and strategic planning on a cooperative and joint basis.

NTF / USTA Excellence Tem

Overview

The NTF in partnership with the USTA Foundation will be organizing its first Excellence Team. We will be selecting 8 boy and 8 girls to participate on the team ages 8 – 12, who reside in the Greater Atlanta Area. Players must meet the following requirements:

Requirements

  • Have a passion for the game of tennis.
  • Seek to get on a path to go to earn a scholarship to play tennis in college or at the professional level.
  • Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA to get on the Team and maintain a 3.5 GPA to stay on the Team.
  • Must meet twice a week for high performance tennis and leadership training.
  • Must meet once a quarter for Leadership Retreats.
  • Cost: $1000 a quarter.
  • Foundation Grants Available for children that have a documented financial need.
